'Tis said, stolen goods ne'er prosper,—well,
Another course pursue, man;
I hate those beaux who kiss and tell,
And, therefore, Mister New-man,
Yet, if pursued by faithful love,
Thy Emma find thee true, man;
As faithful thou might'st Emma prove,
And make her Mistress New-man.
Strange paradox for lovers, too;
Go ask thy priest the clue, man,
Then our friends soon may, 'how d'ye do,
Mister and Mistress Newman?'
